Happy
Holidays!
Dear Friends and Customers:
As we head into the holiday season,
please let me take this opportunity to thank you for your
support and encouragement.
Milestones this past month include the
addition of three new retail clients, an opportunity for
a large retail account, a local cooking demonstration, an
audition tape for the Food Network, (View audition tape
here) and several new hospital/health care clients.
I would appreciate your continued prayers for this
business, my continued education, and for the opportunity
to help people with their nutritional concerns.
Thank you.

What's The Skinny
on Water?
Incredible as it may seem,
water is quite possibly the single most important
catalyst in losing weight and keeping it off.
Although people take it for granted, water may be the
only true magic potion for permanent weight loss.
Water suppresses the appetite
naturally and helps the body metabolize stored
fat. Studies have shown that a decrease in water
intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while
an increase in water intake can actually reduce fat
deposits. This is why: The kidneys cannot
function properly without enough water. When they
don't work at full capacity, some of their load is
dumped onto the liver. One of the liver's primary
functions is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy
for the body. But, if the liver has do some of the
the kidney's work, it can't operate at full throttle to
do its own job. Therefore it metabolizes less fat,
and more fat remains stored in the body, contributing to
weight gain and further inhibiting weight
loss.
As far as temperature of the
water goes, the colder the better for losing
weight. Drinking ice-cold water speeds up the
metabolism, which must work extra hard to keep the
body temperature from dropping.
But how much water is
enough? On average, a person should drink at least
64 oz. per day. An overweight person needs one
additional 8 oz. glass for every 25 pounds of
excess weight. And coffee, tea, soda or any other
beverage is not a substitute for clean, pure
water. - GCNM
So drink up for your
health!

How Many
Calories Do You Need?
Your Weight x 10 and
then add 30% to that amount. (Example: 160
lb. person x 10 = 1,600. 1,600 x 30% = 480.
1,600 + 480 = 2,080 daily calories). If this
person is moderately active, consuming this many daily
calories should help in maintaining weight.
Anything less should result in weight
loss. |
Track Your Food
Keeping track
of your calories is super easy. Just download this
free "Food Tracking Chart". You can 3 - hole punch it and place it in
a binder. This is also a great resource tool for keeping
track of your water intake and daily
exercise. | |
